What is Rolfing®?
Rolfing,
usually a series of ten body manipulation treatments within
the fascia or connective tissue, re-aligns the structural
segments of the body around a vertical axis. Pressure by
the Rolfer creates heat which allows a chemical change to
occur. Then your flexing or extending of the muscle
attached reminds the body memory of where it belongs. In
this way Rolfing allows you to sit walk and stand in ways
that are better for your posture. A body thus organized
makes you to look and feel your best, improves flexibility
and range of motion. It serves as an effective prevention
of injury.
"A
fundamental purpose of Rolfing," according to Ida Rolf, "Is
to change structure to more effectively utilize gravity."
